India will host a world University squash championship for the first time, scheduled to come off in September 2014. The event held under the banner of the international University of Sports Federation (FISC). Ding Junhui won the title in the inaugural £300,000 Indian Open snooker tournament in New Delhi and defeated Aditya Mehta. He took the winner’s cheque for £50,000. Ravuri Bharadhwaja, Literacy luminary and Jnanpith Awardee died on 18th October 2013.
