  1. Government of India announced the India’s highest civilian award forCricketer Sachin Tendulkar and also for Scientist C. N. R. Rao on 16thNovember 2013. Sachin Tendulkar is the first Sportsperson to be chosen for the honour. He retired from All forms of Cricket on 16th November and he has a 24 years record breaking career in cricket. C.N.R Rao is the third Scientist to receive this prestigious award after C.V. Raman and Former president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

  • Commonwealth Summit (CHOGM) held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Final day of CHOGM, the journalists raising questions to Sri Lankan President on how much time he needed to complete the probe into the allegations, for that the Sri Lankan President, Mahindra Rajapaksa said at press conference “We need time, this can’t be done overnight.
